Nobilo Wine Group scoops four gold medals

Nobilo Wine Group wines have scooped four gold medals at the prestigious New Zealand International Wine Show 2007.

Judges awarded the coveted medals to Drylands Sauvignon Blanc 2007, Taylors Estate Merlot 2006, Ebenezer Barossa Cabernet 2001, and Taylors Estate Chardonnay 2006.

The group also achieved 20 silver and 28 bronze medals.

More then 2000 wines were entered in the awards with the judges finding just 163 worthy of gold medal status.

Judging for the New Zealand International Wine Show ran from 11-15 September, and is the largest event of its kind in New Zealand. Overall winners will be named and awarded Trophies on Saturday September 29.

Nobilo Wine Group produces, imports and exports a wide range of wines, including Nobilo Regional Collection, Icon, White Cloud, Selaks, Hardys, Banrock Station, Leasingham and Barossa Valley Estate.

The company was started by Nikola Nobilo in the 1940s when he was among West Auckland's winemaking pioneers, and has grown to become the second largest wine group in New Zealand.
