New book unveils the secrets of making websites really work

As Chief Executive Officer of Award-winning website company, Zeald.com, David Kelly has had a hand in improving more than 5,000 websites in New Zealand.

His latest project is a book designed to share his team’s expertise in what makes websites work more effectively for organisations. It’s called The Secrets of Website Persuasion and it’s designed to help unravel the mysteries of persuading people that visit your website to take action.

A passionate advocate of educating small and medium-sized businesses on how they should set up web sites that actually deliver results, David has over the past 18 months spoken to more than 3000 people at the 60 free seminars that Zeald.com has run throughout New Zealand.

He estimates that there are more than 200,000 small and medium-sized businesses in New Zealand that are not using the web very effectively, or simply don’t know where to start in creating a persuasive website.

The Secrets of Website Persuasion is first a marketing book which tells anyone setting up a website how to determine who their target market is, and how to define exactly what they are wanting their site to deliver to that specific  market. Most of all it explains how to test, measure and tune a web site’s performance so that it gets the results they are looking for,

This book is written for the many business people who never studied the Internet at school so they don’t really understand how powerful it is and how it can effectively add another income-generating division to their operations.

“This book is not to be confused with a DIY approach to websites. It has enough technical information for anyone working in the industry to not be bored, but it is written in the straightforward language that marketing managers and business owners can understand.”

Described as “a goldmine that simplifies what seems to be an overwhelming or complicated process” by Heather Douglas, founder of award winning HomeBizBuzz.co.nz online website, this book achieves what other mainstream marketing books fail to do – it explains in easy to use terms exactly how to make websites persuade customers to do what you want them to do.

The Secrets of Website Persuasion will be one of Phantom Publishing’s featured books at the Frankfurt International Book Fair in October 2007.
