TelstraClear goes mobile for business

TelstraClear goes mobile for business

TelstraClear entered the mobile market ahead of schedule today with a full service offering for small and medium enterprise business customers.

TelstraClear Head of Small and Medium Enterprise Brenda Stonestreet says the company has brought its service to market slightly earlier than planned following strong interest from customers and a successful internal trial.

“Since announcing our plans for a mobile service our customers have been asking us ‘when?’. There’s considerable interest from businesses who previously enjoyed having mobile from us as part of their total telecommunications package and they want that experience again,” says Ms Stonestreet.

“In the past we offered the same plans as another mobile provider at much the same price, but now we can deliver something different and continue to develop our service over time.”

Ms Stonestreet says all TelstraClear staff received TelstraClear mobiles about a month ago and pilot customers are already using TelstraClear mobile phones.

“The transition for our staff, especially the ease in porting over more than 700 numbers in a few days, reinforced our plan to push ahead with an earlier than expected customer offer.”

“A similar experience with a select group of customers has seen us push ahead and get to market.”

Ms Stonestreet says the company will concentrate its marketing efforts on its existing small and medium sized customers, who will be contacted soon.

“We’ll be starting with our customers first. They’ve had mobile from us before and we see this as a way of rewarding that support. Mobile will be one part of a wider communications service that’s all about simplifying customers’ telecommunications and letting them focus on running their business.”
