Gen-i Preferred Vendor for Telecommunions for MSD

Gen-i Selected as Preferred Vendor for Telecommunications Services for
Ministry of Social Development

AUCKLAND, New Zealand, 10 December 2007 – The Ministry of Social Development has announced that it has chosen Gen-i as its preferred partner to proceed to the next phase of negotiations for the supply of a range of telecommunications services.

The new agreement will include the provision of voice, data, internet/extranet, remote access, service management, telecommunications security and transition services. Vodafone will negotiate for the provision of mobile services.

The Ministry will become one of Gen-i’s largest ICT clients in New Zealand.

Rhoda Holmes, General Manager Gen-i Australasia, is delighted with the news and says this is a major achievement for the business.

“We’re thrilled with the opportunity to partner with the Ministry for the provision of all its data and voice communications services,” said Holmes. “The Ministry has a number of strategic business initiatives over the next few years, and we will support their future business goals with infrastructure solutions.”

Gen-i will be working with the Ministry on the negotiation phase over the next few weeks and, once completed, will commence the transition to the new Gen-i services.

“We very much look forward to developing a long-term strategic relationship with the Ministry as it embarks on an exciting period of change designed to further enhance its delivery of services to New Zealanders,” added Holmes.
