Proven process software available for fast growing NZ companies

Many of this country’s fast-growing organisations breathed a collective sigh of relief with the arrival to New Zealand of Mavim, a world-leading software company specialising in process mapping and document management. The company has 250,000 licensees worldwide and counts Toyota, Deloitte, Unilever, Suncorp and Qantas amongst its clients.

Designed for fast-growing and multiple-site organisations, early adopters and advocates in New Zealand include Whakatane District Council, Air Nelson, Pay Office, Westforce Credit Union, and Te Ika Whenua.

At the end of November, representatives from these organisations and others including major airlines, Promendo, Pinnacle, Downer EDi Works, Wintec, Te Ika Whenua (a Maori Health Trust) and operational risk management company Preact (NZ) Ltd met in Auckland at a Mavim Solutions Week, sponsored by Simpl. New Zealand Managing Director Mr Robin van der Breggen led the seminar and was joined by guest presenters including colleagues from his Head Office in Holland.

Feedback from existing and prospective users at the seminar was extremely positive. Air Nelson Technical representative and Mavim user Cindy Thorns noted, “Air Nelson and Eagle Airways initially purchased Mavim as a Process Modelling and Document Publishing tool but we soon realised that its capabilities were much greater. We now plan on extending our use of Mavim as a total Document Management System which will vastly minimise document duplication, improve version control and once published on the web, make documents easily accessible to all staff”.

Fellow attendee and prospective user Ian Buckland from Downer EDi Works is equally enthusiastic about the benefits that he believes will flow through his organisation as a result of adopting Mavim. “Based on what we’ve seen and heard, we would expect the benefits from Mavim to be less quality variance, less rework, higher levels of compliance, higher productivity, more motivated staff and a greater focus on improvement,” said Mr. Buckland.

Mr. van der Breggen is delighted with such positive feedback and is excited about the uptake and the growing interest in the software his company offers.

“Organisations with a large number of employees are finding it increasingly hard to manage processes with numerous versions of the ‘latest’ document being published and circulated” said Mr. van der Breggen. “This creates confusion and inefficiencies as staff struggle to keep up with, or comply with, official procedures.”

“For companies or organisations experiencing fast growth, quality compliance requirements or snap audits for health and safety, it’s critical that the right documentation is being accessed and followed by all staff,” said Mr. van der Breggen. “What’s more the software framework they use must be robust, yet simple to use, so that it is adopted from day one which further explains why Mavim is in demand.”
