Key manager for new-look Novotel Gardens Queenstown

Queenstown’s largest hotel has secured rising hotel management star Clinton Farley as its Executive Assistant Manager.

Twenty-eight-year-old Clinton started his new role today (21 January) as second in charge at the Novotel Gardens Queenstown.

His initial responsibilities include overall management of the food and beverage division, recruiting, training and managing staff, budgets and reporting, and policy writing.

Clinton was formerly the front office manager at Queenstown’s Mercure Resort and has worked for Mercure and Novotel owner Accor since 2006.

In 2005 he was the first Southern Lakes finalist for a national young hotel manager award.

He is armed with nine years’ of hospitality experience and three industry diplomas in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality Management, and Information Systems and Technology for Business. He also has a number of in-house Accor qualifications.

General Manager Carl Braddock says he is delighted to have Clinton on board and is looking forward to working closely with him.

“Clinton is a fast-rising star and his fresh perspective and hotel management experience will help take the Novotel to new heights now we’ve completed our $13 million dollar makeover.”

Clinton said becoming Executive Assistant Manager of Queenstown’s largest hotel was a fantastic opportunity to be creative and hone his management skills.

“The new hotel renovations are really impressive and it’s nice hearing so much good feedback. I’m looking forward to building on that and really putting the ‘wow’ factor into people’s visits – whether it be guests or locals coming to try out our new restaurant, bar and café facilities.”

Now officially Queenstown’s largest accommodation provider, the Novotel Gardens Queenstown offers 273 new or freshly renovated rooms and can cater for up to 546 guests – a 34% increase in potential guest numbers.
