Daily Deal Website Offers Mini One ‘Dutch Auction’ For Maxi Value

Wellington – March 14 – Online ‘daily deal’ website FirstIn.co.nz is to offer a brand new Mini ‘One’ for auction via the innovative website’s ‘Dutch auction’ next Wednesday.

The $29,990 Mini Cooper will be sold to the successful bidder on the day of sale using the site’s price-dropping ‘Dutch auction’ system whereby the price drops every few minutes until a successful buyer emerges.

FirstIn normally sells electronic and similar items, with its prices set as the lowest available nationally. It is New Zealand’s first ‘daily deal’ website with listed items changing daily and being available only on the day of sale.

The Mini Cooper One is being sold by Jeff Gray BMW as a joint marketing project with the website. Jeff Gray BMW Managing Director Paul Arden said he was delighted to be involved in the Mini auction.

“We know FirstIn have a terrific reputation for selling quality products at a great price and that is what this is about. As well as raising the profile of an iconic motor car that we’re very proud of,” Mr Arden said.

FirstIn Manager Adam Brown was equally delighted with the venture, saying it was something of a ‘coming of age’ for the ground-breaking website.

“We’ve always tried to offer our customers not only great products and prices, but also great service and that ‘something different’ that distinguishes us from anyone else.

“The site traffic has grown strongly over recent months and we believe the addition of quality products like the Mini One will continue to provide some real excitement and value to our customers.

“We believe the Mini One auction is the first time there has ever been such a price-lowering auction of this type for a motor vehicle and we’re keen to do more” Mr Brown said.

The auction will start at 8.30am on Wednesday. The Mini One is available on a 20 per cent deposit with the monthly re-payment fee dropping until the vehicle is purchased or reaches reserve as part of the Dutch Auction.

FirstIn will be following this up with another exciting offer on a Mini Clubman at the end of the month to co-incide with it’s New Zealand launch.
