Hue – a new concept in hair colour opens in Auckland
Finally,
woman can have salon hair-colouring at affordable prices and
in less than half the time!
Hue is Auckland City’s first colour-only salon, a brand new concept in hair design, opening in early April in Mt Eden, Auckland.
90-percent of women colour their hair in some shape or form - either at home which is cost-effective but sometimes inaccurate, or at a salon which offers a good result but can hurt the bank balance. Hue is a high-end, world-class salon that will offer affordable and professional hair colour with great service.
“The colour-only salon concept is a unique break-through in the grooming industry – a salon dedicated entirely to hair colour means we can provide the very best service from the country’s top colourists plus bring some real theatre into the hair colouring experience,” says Salon director, Jenny Aitken.
“The ultimate place for hair treatment is a tranquil, modern space where clients feel comfortable and can have some time-out – and this is what Hue can offer,” continues Aitken.
“Prices start at just $40 and even though the prices are cheaper, the quality and the services levels will be the same as any top salon in NZ, if not better. We just want to help NZ woman stay beautiful and confident at affordable prices. Personally I am a little tired of the exuberant prices of others salons.”
Global hair-care giant Schwarzkopf is backing this venture with their full range of products as well as supplying an all-organic hair colouring product, 'Organic Colour Systems’ (OCS). This product is manufactured in the UK by a company named Herb who distributes to over 20 countries. OCS does not contain ammonia and has a low level of the PHP dyes compared to regular colour.
“We’re really happy to be on board with this unique salon experience, we see a real market for this service and are totally confident NZ woman will embrace this new concept. We look forward to helping Hue grow,” says Jane Hassal, GM Schwarzkopf NZ.
The idea to drive
some change in the hair care retail environment came from
Jenny Aitken, an ex beauty therapist who was dissatisfied
with what was on offer in terms of hair colouring services.
She saw a gaping hole in the market and was tired of
over-priced, under-skilled salons. Jenny brought on board
business partners Grant Stapleton and Stephen Smith to help
the dream unfold. Grant Stapleton expanded Bakers Delight in
NZ and Stephen Smith is a Lion Nathan Marketing Director.
The grand plan for the Hue team is to take this unique
concept around the world and in the short term open over 20
outlets in NZ within the next 2 years.
