Clearnet - Let the games begin

TelstraClear has today launched Clearnet.co.nz, a new online destination for digital content.

Clearnet.co.nz includes news, sport, video and weather, with an initial focus on gaming. This includes the site’s own gaming servers, reviews and unique benefits for TelstraClear customers such as zero rated gaming.

TelstraClear Group Manager Marketing Luke Patterson says Clearnet.co.nz is TelstraClear’s entry into the online consumer market with the objective of showcasing and selling broadband.

“With more than 2.9 million Kiwis’ having broadband access at home, TelstraClear needs to be in the online content space. What we’ve launched today is just the first stage, with a number of planned features to be introduced that will showcase the true benefits of broadband.”

“We’re a broadband company and we want to provide our customers with new and innovative ways to experience and use the power of broadband.”

“We’re working on bringing more exclusive content and online initiatives never before seen in New Zealand.”

Exclusive content comes from partnerships with companies such as Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo. News and editorial content will be delivered via partnerships with 3 News, New Zealand Press Association, IGN.com and HB Media.

Mr Patterson says the initial focus on gaming for Clearnet.co.nz is tapping into a large and under serviced market.

“The New Zealand gaming industry is worth more than $100m per year in New Zealand. That’s a huge community and with the quality of TelstraClear’s broadband we can deliver them an unparalleled experience.”
