Harcourts Rural team has record year

 Media Release

Harcourts Rural team has record year

15 May 2008 - Harcourts Rural team had a record year in the 2007/08 financial year, achieving well over $900 million in settled sales in the 12 months ended 31 March 2008, Harcourts National Rural Manager Kim Shannon announced today.

Mr Shannon says the 2007/08 total of settled sales was more than 20% greater than the 2006/07 tally.

“Particularly with the dairy industry booming, there was a lot of activity in the rural property sector during the last financial year and Harcourts sales consultants secured a strong share of the market - settling almost 3000 sales of everything from very large farms right to small lifestyle blocks and everything in between,” he says.

“Impressively seven of our rural offices recorded more than $30 million in rural sales in the 12 months from 1 April 2007 to 31 March 2008, including two offices that sold more than $40 million in rural property and one who achieved over $50 million in settled sales.”

Mr Shannon says that along with the slowdown in the residential property market, the volume of lifestyle properties sales in recent months has been down on the same period last year, but in most other segments of the rural property market sales and prices appear to be holding firm.

Currently boasting a nationwide network of almost 190 rural and lifestyle property sales consultants, Harcourts Rural team has grown over the years and is now a significant player in the rural real estate sector, Mr Shannon says.
