Mountain Buggy® made in New Zealand

Wellington, NZ.- Despite growing pressure Mountain Buggy® is committed to manufacturing their buggies in New Zealand, while their competition have all moved their manufacturing to China. Mountain Buggy firmly believes in quality and the rewards of investing in their local community to both them and their customers, in terms of product quality, support, flexibility and other less tangible benefits far out weighs the reduced labor costs in China.

Mountain Buggy’s new global website www.mountainbuggy.com features a short movie clip that shows the manufacturing and testing facility in New Zealand. Not everyone is aware that each Mountain Buggy stroller is made in New Zealand and assembled by hand!

It is pretty amazing to watch their testing technique, too. Mountain Buggy has hand-built several machines with the express purpose of completely abusing their strollers. They want to see how their products will perform under extremely rigorous use, to make sure the strollers will stand up to almost anything that comes their way so they are extremely safe and can be passed on and re-used again and again.
