Diageo announces Lion Nathan distribution rights for Ketel One vodka

Diageo is excited to announce that Lion Nathan will take over New Zealand distribution of Ketel One vodka from 29th September 2008. This follows the agreement made in February 2008 by Diageo and the Nolet family to form a new 50/50 company, which owns the perpetual exclusive global rights to sell, market and distribute the successful super-premium Ketel One vodka.

Ketel One vodka will take pride of place amongst the Diageo Reserve Brands in the Lion Nathan portfolio, which includes the unique and luxurious Ciroc vodka.

Ketel One vodka is produced at the Nolet distillery in Schiedam, Holland and was founded by Joannes Nolet in 1691. The distillery, which still uses the traditional method of copper pot distillation, remains as a family business and is managed by the 11th generation of the Nolet family. Ketel One is a hand-crafted product named after the original copper pot still, “Distelleerketel #1”. The vodka’s premium reputation is upheld with the first and last 100 gallons of each distillate discarded as being too harsh or too weak.

Each batch of Ketel One vodka is quality tested and personally tasted by a member of the Nolet family to approve the product’s right to bear the Ketel One name.

Ketel One vodka is available at selected on and off premise customers throughout NZ. RRP$59.99
