Buy yourself a slice of Millbrook history

Media Release from Millbrook West

Buy yourself a slice of Millbrook history

Queenstown’s five-star Millbrook resort is selling off ‘pieces’ of the multi-award-winning property – but deep pockets aren’t required to buy in.

The premier golf resort is literally selling off whole fairways, turf that has been graced by the likes of former US President Bill Clinton, various heads of state and numerous VIPs.

The lush green turf is being pulled up from the existing 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th fairways as the existing championship course undergoes a multi-million dollar re-development and a new nine holes is added, to be known as the Coronet Nine.

“Its turf with a history, turf that has been lovingly tended, fertilized and irrigated by a team of professionals for the past 15 years,” said Millbrook Property Development Manager Ben O’Malley.

“Bill Clinton came here in September 1999, played nine holes and loved it, describing it as an “enchanted land”.

“Word’s got out already and people are queuing up to buy it – not only because it’s in such good condition but because of its history. Imagine laying this in your back yard and getting out there for a few quiet practice chips with some friends. How much fun would that be?”

Would-be buyers had better get in quick if they want some turf from the greens, perfectly manicured and preened as they are.

“The greens are laid on sand and not soil, so it’s not that ideal for lawns,” said Mr O’Malley. “However if you’ve got enough space to set up your own mini putting green, it would be perfect.”

The turf will be cut up and rolled ready to distribute during the first week in December only, but Millbrook is taking orders now. Priced at $3.50 m2 with discounts available for larger orders, the turf will come with a bag of fertilizer, instructions on how to roll and look after it, and stacked on pallets for collection or optional delivery by Millbrook.

"Normally turf sells for up to $$8 per m2 or more, but we’ve put together a great deal because it’s advantageous for us to remove large areas of turf at one time as the top soil then goes through our screening plant more efficiently,” Mr O’Malley said.

“You too can have your own piece of Millbrook, so just let us know and we’ll help set you up for summer.”
