Sacred Hill Wine Thief Series continues its reign

News Alert

Sacred Hill Wine Thief Series Chardonnay 2007 continues its reign of successes

Sacred Hill Wines has walked away Gold for its 2007 Wine Thief Series Chardonnay at the 2008 Air New Zealand Wine Awards.

Over 1500 wines were presented as part of the competition and this win confirms Sacred Hill’s reputation for producing quality New Zealand chardonnay. This is the second gold for the 2007 Wine Thief Chardonnay having also been awarded gold at last month’s 2008 New Zealand International Wine Show.

“It’s great to see this wine held in such esteem and pedigree by wine judges. It’s fantastic when you create wines that stand out as one of the best. We were particularly excited about the 2007 Sacred Hill Wine Thief Chardonnay. It is an outstanding chardonnay that is a true expression of the vineyard, the influencing river valley, and the attention to detail shown throughout the process of growing and making this wine,” says Sacred Hill Chief Winemaker Tony Bish.

The Wine Thief Series Chardonnay is a Single Vineyard wine produced with grapes from Sacred Hill’s Riflemans Vineyard situated in the Dartmoor Valley in Hawkes Bay. The vineyard is set high above a river valley at an altitude that ensures fantastic fruit intensity and flavour definition.   Concert goers to the Feb 10th More FM Winery Concert tour at Sacred Hill will get to experience the stunning setting and location of this vineyard themselves.

Overall Sacred Hill Wines was awarded one gold, three silver and four bronze medals.

The Sacred Hill Wine Thief Series Chardonnay is now eligible for an Elite Gold medal and Trophy to be announced at an Awards dinner on 22 November.

2007 Sacred Hill Wine Thief Series Chardonnay is available at fine wine retail outlets throughout New Zealand. RRP $29.90
