Energy Advice now on line

Launch of Wellington Home Energy Advice Centre’s new website

Householders in the Wellington region can now access the Wellington Home Energy Advice Centre online.  The new website www.energyadvice.org.nz includes a webform for energy advice queries, a Frequently Asked Questions page and a forum for householders to discuss energy advice problems and share tips and ideas.  The new website will make it easier for more householders to access the service.

“Since the Advice Centre was launched back in March, we have advised over 600 customers on how to keep warmer at home and lower their fuel bills” says Sarah Free, Energy Advisor at the Centre.  “But we anticipate that the number of calls will remain high throughout the summer with the combination of the credit crunch and recent increases in power bills.  Although power bills are usually lower in the summer, it’s also a time when people put the old beer fridge back into action or start to run the air conditioning and these appliances can add significantly to power bills”.

The Advice Centre offers free and impartial advice on a wide range of energy efficiency subjects.  Those wishing to keep their power bills low through the summer and to be one step ahead for next winter should check out the new website or call for advice FREE on 0800 388 588.
