Australia’s Top Selling Lower Calorie Sparkling Wine Range Launches In New Zealand

CONSUMER DEMAND SEES LIGHTER ALTERNATIVE INTRODUCED BY YELLOWGLEN – A FIRST FOR LIFESTYLE CONSCIOUS KIWI CONSUMERS

Yellowglen Jewel, Australia’s first dedicated lower calorie, lower alcohol [30% less calories and 40% less alcohol when compared to Yellowglen Yellow and Yellowglen Pink] sparkling wine range, has launched in New Zealand.

With 30% less calories and 40% less alcohol than its top selling sister products – Yellowglen Yellow and Yellowglen Pink – Jewel Yellow and Jewel Pink are new, light alternatives for lifestyle conscious consumers.

Yellowglen is Australia’s number one selling sparkling wine brand with sales in excess of 1 million cases, and $100 million dollars per year.

Since Yellowglen Jewel was launched in Australia in April last year, Jewel Pink and Jewel Yellow have been the number one and number two fastest growing sparkling wine products in Australia, respectively.

Developed to meet growing consumer trends towards leading a healthier lifestyle, the range provides a lighter alternative to traditional sparklings. Yellowglen Jewel Pink has just 65 calories per serve (150ml), and Yellowglen Jewel Yellow has 60 calories. This compares to a standard glass of sparkling which contains, on average, 99 calories.

Light on calories, but high on taste, Yellowglen Jewel is a fabulously fresh tasting alternative for any occasion. Yellowglen Jewel also includes a nutritional information panel on the bottle.

Cameron MacFarlane, marketing director for Foster’s New Zealand, said New Zealanders were seeking more balanced lifestyles and lower calorie and lower alcohol options helped them achieve this, which is why they developed the Yellowglen Jewel range.

“The trend towards leading a healthier lifestyle is growing at a rapid rate, and we wanted to provide our customers with lighter options.

“Alcoholic beverages can often have high calorie content per serve which, even when enjoyed in moderation, can add up over an evening or lunch and our customers are very aware of this.

“Yellowglen Jewel provides a lighter, refreshing alternative that is lower in calories and alcohol, in a great tasting glass of bubbles,” said Mr MacFarlane.

Yellowglen Jewel Yellow NV 750ml and Yellowglen Jewel Pink NV 750ml have a recommended retail price of $11.99 and are now widely available throughout New Zealand.

Yellowglen Jewel Pink is a soft petal pink in the glass, strawberry and citrus aromas flood across the sparkling palate, balanced by refreshing natural acidity.

About Yellowglen:
