Creative exhibitors sought for new market concept

Artistic and creative exhibitors sought for new market concept @ Sale St

A brand new concept in Auckland’s retail scene is about to be launched… where innovative fashion, art and interior home ware designers are being given an exciting opportunity to display their creations in a totally new environment – a market based within the city’s biggest and most talked about bar.

Designer fashion wear and accessories, artworks, gourmet produce and interior design furnishings and fittings are just some of the stylish products which will be on show at the soon-to-be-launched EPIPHANYdesignstore@SALE ST. The market will be held totally within the walls of leading bar and restaurant Sale St.

The new concept in market retailing has been brought to Auckland by Ponsonby-based entrepreneur Brendon Poole and Travis Standen who are partners in the online business EPIPHANYdesignstore.

Now Brendon is seeking like-minded style and fashion focused entrepreneurs willing to showcase their chic and cutting-edge designs and products at the market - which is planned to operate on Saturdays and Sundays between 9.00am and 3pm in Sale St.

“Bar markets are a concept that have proven to be a success in Sydney, and it made perfect sense to establish the idea here. We’ve been waiting for a bar like Sale St to come along as we needed somewhere with plenty of space, somewhere close to the city and Ponsonby, and somewhere the concept of hospitality retailing could be fully embraced,” said Brendon.

“We want to hear from the creative fashion and style entrepreneurs of Auckland – clothes designers, jewellery-makers, artists, artisans, interior décor co-ordinators and gourmet food producers who would like to be part of the whole EPIPHANYdesignstore@SALE ST concept.

“Imagine setting up a display space where your products will potentially be flanked by bar staff pouring a glass of thirst-quenching lager, or beside the aromas of a professional restaurant kitchen cooking eggs Benedict, or adjoining a fully operational coffee roasting machine. The EPIPHANYdesignstore@SALE ST will marry hospitality with retailing in a theme never before seen in the city.”

A tentative launch date for the first EPIPHANYdesignstore@SALE ST is scheduled for the first week in June. To ensure exclusivity and high levels of quality and chic are maintained, only 20 exhibition spaces will be made available within the Sale Stt premises.

“We believe the EPIPHANYdesignstore@SALE ST will be a first for New Zealand – where casual market-style shopping meets leading-edge hospitality in Auckland’s foremost bar,” said Brendon.

In conjunction with the market theme, Auckland’s larger-than-life hospitality personality, Luke Dallow, and his team at Sale St will be creating an ever-changing menu of tapas dining and drinking delights – designed to allow browsing while socialising. Live music is also planned for the market – with jazz and laid-back acoustic sets being pencilled in for the first month.

Enthusiastic business partner Luke Dallow said Sale St’s talented chefs were already gearing up for production of the venue’s own range of sauces, chutneys and freshly ground coffee at the new concept market.

“Saturday and Sunday mornings are quiet periods for most bars, so it made perfect sense to turn over the expansive floor space of Sale St into a European-styled market arena. I’m confident this market will set new benchmarks for retailing in New Zealand,” said Luke.

“Imagine, starting off Saturday or Sunday morning with brunch and a coffee where you can read the paper or wander around and go shopping, maybe catch up with friends, browse, have another coffee, or even come in a bit later and go straight for a glass of wine over lunch after picking up something new to wear that night.

“This is going to be huge among the Ponsonby set who love nothing better than shopping, eating and drinking… and at the EPIPHANYdesignstore@SALE ST event you’ll be able to do all three things at the same time. It’s an absolute winner, and I’m looking forward to personally meeting all the new exhibitors who will be joining us in June.”
