Tourism professional brings years of experience to Millbrook

A tourism professional with more than 20 years’ experience with tourism or tourism-related companies, and proven leadership and management skills, has joined Queenstown’s Millbrook Resort.

Stu Cordelle has been appointed Sales Manager, Leisure and Group, responsible for business development and growth within two of the resort’s most significant sectors.

Stu has significant relevant sales experience in Queenstown, most recently at Real Journeys and Mitre Peak Cruises, and business management and development skills honed at Travelex NZ Ltd and Travelex Financial services NZ Ltd.

Mr Cordelle, 43, a Queenstown resident since 1989, said he relished the opportunity to work at Millbrook after watching the resort’s growth and development over the past 16 years.

“I’ve joined a top class team at Millbrook where the future looks so positive, especially with our new property developments and the new Coronet Nine golf course.

“It’s fantastic to work in an environment that’s so conducive to a great sense of wellbeing – I’m really into my golf, gym and mountain biking, so Millbrook’s my dream lifestyle. And how hard can that be to sell?”

Mr Cordelle was Sales and Marketing Manager at Mitre Peak Cruises, increasing its profile and launching new product, until the company was sold in November 2008. For four-and-a-half years previously he was Retail Sales Manager at Real Journeys, ensuring sales growth in New Zealand and Australia.

He was General Manager Retail for New Zealand and Fiji for Travelex Financial Services for just over two years, managing the integration of two large businesses and approximately 90 staff in 38 branches.

Millbrook Sales and Marketing Director Kim Carpenter described Stu as the “perfect” addition to the sales team.

“Millbrook is bringing together a terrific team of professionals to help guide and direct the resort into the future. Stu lives and breathes the resort lifestyle and with his experience he will help us to achieve our sales goals and to focus on key FIT markets around the world.”
