MEDIA RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Snapper Spreads Integrated Ticketing Footprint Even Further

New Zealand’s leading smart card solution provider expands its integrated ticketing system to include taxi services as another mode of travel, providing easier, seamless travel on public transport in the greater Wellington region.

Wellington, New Zealand – 23 July 2009

Snapper Services Ltd announced today that it is extending the services and places where Snapper can be used on public transport in the Greater Wellington region, making travel in Wellington easy and seamless regardless of the mode of transport.
A new partnership with Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) will make Snapper available in around 1000 taxis in the Wellington region. This is primarily to assist Wellington’s disabled community to easily get around the region, quickly and without paper vouchers.

Snapper is targeting the fully integrated taxi service to launch in early 2010. From launch, the Snapper service will be available for any Snapper customer using these taxis, in addition to serving the needs of Total Mobility customers. Snapper is delivering this solution in partnership with Eyede NZ, provider of credential management solutions and TaxiCharge NZ Ltd, New Zealand’s leading taxi billing solution.
Today, Snapper is the leading smart card provider in New Zealand that provides integrated ticketing and fares, assuring customers of a single discount across multiple transport operators. Snapper provides true integration with transfer discounts on Valley Flyer services. This allows passengers using Snapper to get the best value for money transferring between zones across multiple buses, if they can’t find a direct route to their destination.
