Snapper expands ticketing system

MEDIA RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Snapper Works With Runcimans to Introduce Monthly Pass Capabillity.

New Zealand’s leading smart card solution provider expands its integrated ticketing system to include Runcimans bus service, increasing the places where Snapper is a valued and accepted ticketing and payment option in the Wellington and Hutt Valley regions.

Wellington, New Zealand – 20 August 2009

Snapper Services Ltd announced today that from 31st August, Snapper can be used on Runcimans buses, making Snapper available to thousands more commuters in the Hutt Valley region.

Snapper is already available on most Wellington buses, and the majority of all passengers on GO Wellington and Valley Flyer services use a Snapper card as the smart way to pay for their fare, in preference to cash.

Snapper CEO, Miki Szikszai, says, ”The addition of the Runcimans services further demonstrates that Snapper is serious about building a complete integrated ticketing footprint, making Snapper the simple and easy choice for users of public transport. We are one step closer to making Snapper an option on all Wellington buses”

”Working with Runcimans has also given Snapper the opportunity to launch our monthly pass product, something we know customers have been asking for. Runcimans operates 120 bus routes from Whitby through Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt."

“Snapper has rapidly matured in the year since launch - we are approaching 100,000 Snapper cards issued in the market. We have grown Snapper into a reliable and stable Integrated Ticketing platform. We've processed over 10 million transactions in the last year with better than 99.99% accuracy. Our customers have just given us an 85% satisfaction rating. From what they are telling us, extending our coverage footprint and introducing pass products are further Snapper benefits that will lift that rating even higher.”
