Datacraft selected to deliver UCS in New Zealand

Datacraft selected to deliver Cisco Unified Computing System in New Zealand

Datacraft today announces its selection as the exclusive go-to-market partner for Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) in New Zealand.

“The partnership comes out of a long-standing relationship between Cisco and trusted IT services and solutions provider, Datacraft,” says Geoff Lawrie, Country Manager of Cisco New Zealand.

The evolutionary UCS delivers a holistic data centre solution with the full power of virtualisation in one platform encompassing servers, network, storage and the storage network.

“The industry as a whole is in a transition away from rigid, inflexible platforms in data centres,” says Lawrie. “With their unique capability to bring the Cisco UCS to the New Zealand market, Datacraft is poised to drive new growth and profitability.”

The shift from disparate hardware technologies to a single system uncouples scale from complexity. This works to accelerate the transition to next-generation data centres which are more energy efficient and cheaper to run.

“Cisco UCS is changing the face of IT for CIOs around the world,” says Robin Hartendorp, Managing Director of Datacraft New Zealand. “As exclusive partners, we are in a unique position to offer CIOs in New Zealand the key to freedom, from high IT infrastructure costs and complexity that traditional data centres created.”

Datacraft also announces the appointment of Jason Baynham as Business Development Manager for their Data Centre & Storage Solution, based at the Auckland office.

Baynham joins Datacraft from IBM, bringing with him 13 years’ experience in the technology industry with specialised knowledge of server, storage and virtualisation solutions. “Baynham’s appointment is a critical step for Datacraft as his knowledge of the New Zealand market and his hands-on technology consulting experience will enable him to solve our clients’ complex business and technology issues to realise the full potential of next generation IT,” adds Hartendorp.
