NZ Truth Changes Hands, Revamps Content
Media Release
So what’s new after 105 years? The
publishing of NZ Truth has moved to new hands. NZ Truth,
owned by Multimedia Solutions Limited, was published by
Truth Publications but that arrangement has now
ceased.
With the launch of the new paper, Truth
Weekender, the role of publisher has moved to Truth
Weekender Ltd. This change in the paper is matched by a new
business structure and market positioning. The new company
direction will be led by Editor Chris Baldock previously at
Sunday News, who brings a passion and flair for tabloid
newsprint.
The paper has moved to a pre weekend
publication and increased in size to 56 pages. This is a
brand new look and feel tabloid newspaper, truly focused on
the weekend and weekend activities, delivering Sport,
Hunting, Fishing, Entertainment, What’s On and opinionated
news.
The sports section has expanded with Mike Brown,
previously Editor of Friday Flash, joining the sports team
to produce a weekly horse racing section. The changes have
also seen the introduction of a comprehensive guide of what
to do on the weekend especially aimed at dads or single
parents.
The change to the Truth Weekender has also
seen a substantial increase in the news team with five
journalists covering the issues that are at the top of mind
for ordinary New Zealanders. The team deliver stories on
subjects that affect each and every Kiwi, written in a
straight talking tabloid style every week.
There is
a new removable magazine Skin, focuses on night life and has
a full size pin up centrefold girl for the boys. The insert
is part of a move towards a new internet portal,
skin.net.nz, focusing on nightlife and relationship products
and
services.
