Wotif.com launches iPhone interface
BRISBANE
– 29 October 2009: New Zealand is on it’s way
to becoming a nation of iPhone addicts! With so many Kiwis
becoming obsessed with iPhone technology, leading online
accommodation provider Wotif.com has launched a new mobile
phone interface in response to increasing demand from iPhone
users to access the popular website.
The Wotif.com iPhone interface, which has already seen nearly 5000 visits, launched globally this week.
Wotif.com General Manager, Brand Megan Magill, said the site is expecting a further surge in bookings from the new mobile feature as iPhone popularity continues to increase.
“In early January this year we saw a spike in the number of mobile visits to our site, so I guess a lot of people got iPhones for Christmas,” Ms Magill said.
“Throughout the year we have seen a steady increase in Kiwis accessing our site using their iPhones, so we thought we would make it easier for people by launching a specific iPhone interface.”
The interface allows customers to browse hotel deals from around the world, and make a booking as normal, but they can do it on the run using their iPhone.
“We’ve had the interface site in beta since late August, and have already received nearly 700 bookings, which is incredible considering we didn’t even tell people about it,” Ms Magill said.
“With Christmas coming up I think we can expect to see even more Kiwi iPhone users in 2010, and now we’re ready for them.”
The new Wotif.com iPhone interface is available globally now.
