NZSki Receives Employment Awards

Press release from NZSki Limited

November 2, 2009

NZSki’s commitment to value people as the best way to deliver its company vision has been strongly endorsed at this year’s Equal Employment Opportunities Trust Work and Life awards.

The company’s innovative NZSki-U development programme won both the Supreme Award and Tomorrow’s Workforce Award at a ceremony in Auckland on Thursday October 29.

NZSki Human Resources Manager Kevin Sharpe and Coronet Peak Ski Area Manager Hamish McCrostie were on hand to collect the awards.

NZSki CEO James Coddington said everyone involved was delighted and honoured to receive such recognition.

“This is a nice reward for a lot of hard work by a lot of people.”

Mr Coddington said the company has been working on the development of career pathways within the industry for the past three years and the NZSki-U programme was the result.

“Three years ago, I sat down with NZSki managers and developed our vision for the company and its future. It was clear that the only way to deliver the vision was to invest in people. “The idea of NZSki-U was to create something that would help people develop and grow and in turn lead them to help our company develop and progress.”

Mr Coddington said the company has made huge headway with demonstrable results and has now developed a new leadership culture through every level of the organisation
