New Zealand Consortium Wins Rugby World Cup 2011 Hospitality Rights
A New Zealand-based consortium led by the Experience Group, in partnership with the Eden Park Trust and Auckland Rugby, is one of just two successful bidders from an international tender process for the rights to market Official Corporate Hospitality Packages for Rugby World Cup 2011.
Experience Group Managing Director Warren Barclay said details on pricing and packaging had yet to be finalised but his team was already fielding inquiries about the availability of hospitality packages.
“We’re thrilled that a New Zealand-based business has won the international tender for a corporate hospitality agency appointment. To me that’s our first Rugby World Cup win and we’re expecting very strong New Zealand demand for corporate packages as well as the expected demand from international visitors.
“We’ve worked closely with Auckland Rugby and the Eden Park Trust over the past 10 years providing corporate packages for International Rugby tests and Super 14 Rugby so the strong relationships you need for success at this level are already in place and I’m sure that helped our case in the tender process.”
“There’s already significant demand for information about hospitality packages and we will be in a position to launch these in early February 2010,” says Mr Barclay. “There will be a broad range of bundled packages available around venues, teams, pool games, and the knock-out games including quarter-finals, semi-finals and the Finals. We will be able to offer choices across corporate boxes, lounges, a magnificent facility on the outer oval at Eden Park and off-site venues across all games of the Tournament.”
“This is Rugby World Cup and I’m not expecting to see it back in New Zealand for many years. It will be the most affordable way ever for a New Zealand business to take clients and guests to a sporting event of this magnitude,” he said.
“This will be a first-class hospitality experience for our New Zealand and international clients. I know what our New Zealand clients expect and I know that the Rugby World Cup 2011 corporate hospitality experience will be one that they will never forget.”
