Cookie Time have added Weta Workshop to their design team to create what they describe as a world class retail experience planned for Queenstown.
The Cookie Time store will be their showcase outlet, a retail model they plan to franchise throughout the world.
"This is an exciting next step in the company's journey," says Cookie Time general manager, Lincoln Booth.
Cookie Time began 27 years ago, delivering fresh cookies to dairies in Christchurch. The company has since grown to become New Zealand's leading cookie brand. The planned Queenstown store will be a very different offering to its nationwide retail model, according to Mr Booth.
"The Queenstown store will be a interactive brand experience. With people like Richard Taylor at Weta Workshop involved we're telling the brand story in an exciting way, touching on all the senses. It's primarily a showcase opportunity for the brand," he says.
The Queenstown location was chosen for its high number of both national and international visitors.
The final store design is being kept under wraps until its opening on May 10th, however Cookie Time say the store will be "a real drawcard".
Cookie Time say they have a long-term commitment to Queenstown, with a six-figure sum being invested in the Queenstown store.
