Optimation becomes SilverStripe's first NZ Partner

Optimation becomes SilverStripe's first New Zealand Partner

SilverStripe NZ, innovators of an award-wining open source Content Management System, has joined forces with New Zealand ICT services company Optimation to deliver outstanding web and intranet sites for customers across New Zealand’s public and private sector. Optimation is the first New Zealand-based company to join SilverStripe’s global partner program.

SilverStripe CMS is a web-based platform used to build sophisticated intranets, websites and applications. It has been recognised globally for its low cost, high functionality, ease-of-use, and flexibility. NZ customers include Air New Zealand, the State Services Commission, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health and a number of regional, district, and city councils. SilverStripe has also gained traction overseas and was the website platform of choice to run the US Democratic National Convention website that supported Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. The Democratic website handled more than a million visitors a day during the peak of the campaign, and established SilverStripe as a key international player.

Optimation has a long history of delivering exceptional web-enabled business solutions and online self-service and transaction engines for customers including Vodafone, New Zealand Post, the Ministry of Economic Development, and Capability NZ.

“This partnership leverages the combined strengths and capabilities of two innovative and successful New Zealand technology companies. Optimation’s depth of application development and back end integration expertise, as well as our track record working with open source technologies, harmonises well with SilverStripe’s understanding of the technologies and best practices of the web. The strengths of SilverStripe’s CMS platform make it our preference for the open source website and web application work we do for customers,” says Optimation Managing Director Martin Butler.

SilverStripe Head of Sales and Marketing Lee Middleton says, “SilverStripe is excited to have Optimation on board as our first New Zealand Partner. We’ve grown revenue by 190% in two years, showing that demand for open source web technology is very healthy in current economic conditions. Optimation provides SilverStripe with another opportunity to grow market share”

The partnership is already working with several new customers, including developing a six-figure intranet project with a New Zealand company. Optimation has also redeveloped its own website - www.optimation.co.nz - using the SilverStripe CMS. The site now features more dynamic and interactive content, including SilverStripe’s blogging module. It was selected as a finalist in the ONYA Awards run in conjunction with this year’s Webstock conference.

SilverStripe was founded in 2000 and has approximately 40 staff in its Wellington and Melbourne offices It was ranked 37th in the 2009 Deloitte Fast 50 awards. Optimation, founded in 1992, is a member of the MIS Top 100 ICT companies and has over 100 staff in its Wellington and Auckland offices.
