MTV Networks Australia & New Zealand appoints PR agency for MTV and Comedy Central

noodle to handle PR for the Viacom brand portfolio in New Zealand

Auckland PR firm, noodle creative marketing, has been appointed to represent PR for MTV and Comedy Central in New Zealand – effective immediately.

Already undertaking PR for Nickelodeon (SKY channel 044) and Nick Jr. (SKY channel 041), the extension of noodle’s remit to include PR for MTV and Comedy Central will see the company becoming a ‘one stop PR shop’ for the entire Viacom portfolio in the New Zealand marketplace.

MTV (SKY channel 014) is the pioneering destination for youth culture, music and innovation and, since launch in 2006 has become the exclusive home of the network’s renowned international programming from the glittering MTV Movie Awards, VMAs and EMAs to smash-hits such as Jersey Shore to reality shows that reflect youth issues including ‘Teen Mom’, ‘16 & Pregnant’ and ‘I Used To Be Fat’ in addition to prank programming such as The ‘Dudesons’ and ‘Jackass’.

Comedy Central NZ (SKY channel 010) is the first localised channel for the brand in the Asia Pacific region. The 24 hour a day Comedy Central is the world’s only all-comedy network with an estimated global audience of over 140 million viewers laughing at hit shows including Saturday Night Live, Curb Your Enthusiasm, 30 Rock and the hilarious Comedy Roast specials.

Rebecca Batties, GM, Music Brands & Comedy, MTV Networks Australia & New Zealand commented: “We’ve enjoyed an excellent working relationship with noodle for the three years that they have held the Nickelodeon and Nick Jr accounts so applying their extensive experience in the entertainment, music and broadcast sectors to MTV and Comedy Central is a logical next step. We have some exciting developments planned for 2011 and, in collaboration with noodle, we will expand our networks’ presence and popularity in New Zealand.”
