Financial research and ratings company CANSTAR CANNEX is expanding its position in New Zealand under the leadership of newly-appointed National Manager, Derek Bonnar.

His most recent role was at the Commerce Commision where he specialised in the Credit Contracts and Consumer Finance Act, as well as the Fair Trading Act. Plans are afoot to expand the range of star ratings which are the standard for product excellence in Australia and New Zealand.
CANSTAR CANNEX also intends implementing national banking awards such as its best value savings award won last year by TSB Bank for outstanding value across a variety of cash accounts.
CANSTAR CANNEX research also underpins the annual Consumer Banking Awards published in the Sunday Star-Times.
“We see New Zealand as a key part of the overall business strategy and appointing a permanent New Zealand National Manager signals that commitment,” CANSTAR CANNEX CEO Andrew Spicer said.
“The current volatile times make our research and ratings even more important and relevant to consumers, as well as industry and we are looking forward to an increased level of engagement with our Kiwi partners to ensure the brand becomes as strong in New Zealand as it is in Australia,” Mr Spicer said.
