Inaugural Clemenger Group Graduate Programme 2011 A Success

Inaugural Clemenger Group Graduate Programme 2011 A Success
All graduates receive placements

All graduates in the inaugural intake of the 2011 Clemenger Group Graduate Programme have been placed within Clemenger agencies.

In January ten graduates from universities around New Zealand were selected to join the programme. Each graduate was rotated through the majority of Clemenger companies in Auckland and Wellington, and given exposure and training in the advertising, direct, digital and public relations fields.

All ten candidates have been offered a six-month paid placement in their chosen agency. Jim Moser, CEO of Clemenger Group, says the programme has provided a unique opportunity to invest in the future of the industry.

“We're delighted that the programme has been so successful. We have always strived to gain an unfair share of exceptional talent in our Clemenger Group companies by nurturing and hiring smart, passionate and creative people."

Successful graduate, Matthew Abbott, says the programme has provided a great opportunity to get a foot-in-the door to a highly competitive industry.

"The Clemenger Graduate Programme has been fantastic. Very few first jobs offer the chance to see so much in such a short space of time. The programme lets you view the advertising and communications process from a variety of angles, allowing you to get a real feel for the industry and work out if it’s for you."

For graduate Bethany Omeri, the programme has provided the perfect platform to begin a career in advertising.

"The programme really fosters your development. I was given the opportunity to get involved rather than just sitting back and passively observing. I felt like we were given a great deal of trust and responsibility which was the best way to learn. Clemenger Group wants you to be good at your job and they put everything in place to make sure that you can be."

At the end of the six-month placement it is expected all ten graduates will be offered full-time positions within the Clemenger Group.

The Clemenger Group is New Zealand’s largest and most successful group of communications companies, with a total of 12 successful businesses in the group representing over 40 percent of the media market. The Clemenger Group Graduate Programme will be run annually.
