SEQEL Partners Appointed to Find New Chief Executive of EMA

Following the departure of Alasdair Thompson from the Employers & Manufacturers Association, the question of who will replace him as chief executive has been a hot topic in business circles. The company tasked with the job of finding the new leader is executive search firm Seqel Partners, whose two partners, Don Jaine and Mark Ashcroft, will be considering candidates based in New Zealand and Australia, as well as those returning to New Zealand from further afield.

Don Jaine says, “We’re looking at proven industry leaders who can effectively represent the EMA and its stakeholders – people who have been in corporates or medium-large enterprises and who understand the complexities of business.”

“The shortlist will be drawn up in approximately five to six weeks, when we have completed our candidate research and the interview components of the search.”

Between them, Don Jaine and Mark Ashcroft have more than 25 years’ experience in executive search, and specialize in the recruitment of board members, chief executives and senior managers. SEQEL’s clients include Fonterra, Frucor, Griffins, Hellaby Holdings, Mainzeal, PGG Wrightson and The Warehouse.
