Celebrities, show girls and sports stars come out for 747 convoy to Vegas
Eight All Blacks will farewell fellow rugby star Karl Te Nana, league legends Steve Price and Awen Guttenbeil, television stars Kim Crossman and Tammy Davis, Black Caps all-rounder Scott Styris, The Edge’s Dom Harvey and top kiwi band Opshop as well as two jumbo jets full of Vegas-bound passengers at Auckland International Airport check-in this Sunday, to celebrate the 5th birthday of Air New Zealand’s grabaseat.
Crazily costumed passengers will be checked in by a counter full of casino-styled Air New Zealand customer service agents from 12.45pm, whilst All Blacks stars and Vegas show girls will be handing out goody bags, ensuring they’re all set for a fun-filled trip of a lifetime.
“With a number of weddings, stag and hen’s dos, reunions and anniversaries all being celebrated onboard along with grabaseat’s 5th birthday, passengers are guaranteed a wild, fun-filled ride before they even get to Vegas,” says Duane Perrott, Manager grabaseat.
“If chatter on facebook is anything to go by, we can look forward to meeting the Cantabrian woman looking to get married…and divorced the next day, as well as singles from up and down the country on the lookout for love and checking out the crazy Vegas themed costumes that may not make it through the aircraft door, let alone customs when they arrive.”
In planning celebrations for its big day, grabaseat invited fans to choose the birthday party’s location and Vegas overwhelmingly came out on top.
The idea proved so popular an entire Boeing 747 sold out in two weeks. Grabaseat then put on a second jumbo, to fly in convoy with the first.
The good times will begin at Auckland International Airport check-in counters 26 – 32 from 12.45pm on Sunday 7 August with an opportunity for media to talk to those looking to get ready to party, get married, divorced and tattooed at Air New Zealand Premium check-in at 1.30pm.
