Homestar™ appoints new Brand Manager


The New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) has appointed Dana Alexander to the new role of Brand Manager for Homestar™, with responsibility for the strategic development of the marketing and communication of the Homestar brand.

Ms Alexander’s career has included local and international roles in new product development and product licensing. She also founded a successful Interiors and Garden Design business in London, which developed her interest and expertise in sustainability and building design optimisation.

Director for Homestar, Krista Ferguson, says that the role of Brand Manager for Homestar was established to further enhance the public awareness and understanding of the residential rating tool that has grown since its launch almost a year ago.

“The level of interest in Homestar from New Zealanders has been very high so far With Dana’s attention on the brand strategy, we are looking forward to more Kiwi homeowners and occupiers using Homestar to create warmer, healthier and more comfortable homes,” says Ms Ferguson.

Ms Alexander has a Masters in Consumer and Applied Sciences from the University of Otago and a Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Designfrom the Inchbald School of Design, London.

She says she is especially looking forward to bringing her years of international experience in branding, trade marketing and consumer understanding to the role.
