iStart starts up on Aussie soil

Media Release
iStart starts up on Aussie soil

Sydney 15 December 2011

New Zealand’s long-standing independent tech publisher, iStart, today announced it has opened an office in Sydney to better support its growing list of Australian readers and advertisers.

The publisher of the respected ‘technology in business’ magazine, iStart, weekly eNewsletter and the www.iStart.co.nz website, has been well-known in NZ business and IT circles for over ten years, and has been building its presence in Australia, having launched there four years ago.

The office in Darlinghurst on Sydney’s CBD fringe will enhance support for iStart’s services to Australian based ICT businesses, and provide feet on the ground in Sydney’s vibrant ICT scene.

Hayden McCall, iStart’s general manager said the announcement was a significant milestone.

“This is an important initiative to grow our business and solidly position ourselves in the Australian ICT marketplace. The depth of connection between the NZ and Australian business market is growing, and the opportunities to showcase Australian ICT success stories are exciting. With roughly half our readership now Australian, we are anticipating that a dedicated Australian magazine will be introduced soon to demonstrate to business the extensive range of solutions being implemented in Australia,” said McCall.

“Motivating business leaders to look to modern technology to improve productivity and process efficiency is iStart’s core message,” said McCall. “Our focus is not on the latest techno jargon marketing puffery from the ICT vendors, but on the gains being made by real businesses who have taken the big decision to implement technology solutions.”

Plater said today “I am excited to have become involved with iStart as it provides a terrific research and information resource and I see considerable growth in demand for these services.”

Founding directors Marty Verry and Tony McDrury have sold their interests in the business.
