Farm technology package for top Young Farmer

Farm technology package for top Young Farmer

Silver Fern Farms believes in leading from the front; and on Friday (20th January) they announced that they will be supporting the future of New Zealand’s agriculture industry.

Silver Fern Farms has come on board to support The National Bank Young Farmers Contest and the Agri-Sports section will now be known as the Silver Fern Farms Agri-sports Challenge.

Silver Fern Farms Chief Executive Keith Cooper is excited about the new relationship: “We’re pleased to invest in the young future of the industry. As new Gold Tier sponsors we share the same values as the Contest; we are passionate about New Zealand, it agricultural base, innovation which is so important to us, and people across the sector that are the key to our success.”

“Here we see the next generation of farmers and farm leaders being grown within the Contest through the challenges and experiences they face. This will help prepare them for future success: success for them and their business, and success in leading our industry.”

“We are pleased to support this emerging young talent and are looking forward to working with these young people who will shape our industry in the years to come.”

“The National Bank Young Farmer Contest prides itself on showcasing innovation and technology, and we’re setting new standards for the red meat industry, so it’s a natural fit for Silver Fern Farms” says Mr Cooper.

The 2012 Contest champion will win a significant farm technology package while the winner of the Agri-sports Challenge will receive a $5000 technology package. Silver Fern Farms will be supplying Regional Final winners with a $500 package of quality product.
