Whitestone Cheese reaches quarter century milestone
For humble beginnings out of an Oamaru converted garage in 1987, Whitestone Cheese now employs over 50 staff throughout New Zealand. The factory is still based in Oamaru and is now producing over 20 different cheeses from cow, sheep and goat milk.
Using artisan techniques
is their key to sustaining premium quality levels, their
cheese is now exported through the Pacific Rim region
including Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Qatar, Fiji
and the USA.
Windsor Blue their flagship cheese has won
more awards than any other cheese in New Zealand, while the
Whitestone brand was the most awarded brand at the 2011 New
Zealand Cuisine Cheese Awards.
Sustaining product innovation and employing latest packaging technology is an ongoing process for the family owned and operated team, every year they enter the annual cheese awards, with established favorites and newly developed cheeses. This year they have an new historic Brie de Meaux style, called Lindis Pass, plus an exciting blend of cow and goat milk cheese called Five Forks.
