Aegis Media launches the Consumer Connection System: findings show NZ smartphone users drive online content creation

Robert Harvey, Managing Director – Media for Aegis Media New Zealand, today announced the local launch of bespoke consumer study, the Consumer Connection System (CCS).

CCS provides insights into how consumers choose and use media in a rapidly changing world. The findings help Aegis Media businesses, which include Carat, Catch! Media, iProspect, Apollo, Synergy and Haystac, to create powerful connections between client’s brands and their target consumers.

The inaugural CCS New Zealand study shows that smart phone users are the largest group of content creators in the New Zealand market, with 10% of them actively authoring online content. This compares to only 5% of tablet users and 8% of PC users who create content, giving smart phone users the greatest potential to influence their peers. 31% of both smart phone and tablet users are participating in online discussions.

Robert Harvey said of the CCS launch: “Understanding how user generated content is created and consumed allows Aegis Media to ensure precise communication planning in line with the dynamic media habits of today’s consumer to deliver results for clients. CCS will help Aegis Media to specifically understand how New Zealanders are using media such as smart phones and tablets and how brands should be communicating within these channels.”

Originally launched 12 years ago in the UK, CCS has now expanded globally and is available in 40+ countries, accounting for over 90% of global advertising expenditure. In APAC, CCS is active in China, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and now New Zealand.

CCS is the broadest and most in-depth single source of media, marketing and consumer targeting data in the world and will provide Aegis Media New Zealand and its clients with actionable insight into communication usage and engagement across bought, owned and earned digital, experiential and media channels.
