Britz Campervans’ New Sponsorship Deal with Tour of NZ a Hit

Britz Campervans’ New Sponsorship Deal with Tour of NZ a Hit!

New Zealand’s leading campervan brand, Britz, is delighted at the success of its recent sponsorship deal with the inaugural team cycling event, Tour of New Zealand.

Hundreds of cyclists completed the eight-day, eight stage race over the weekend after kicking off on April 14 from Cape Reinga in the north and simultaneously from Bluff in the south.

Professional mountain biker and junior world champion, Anton Cooper led his Christchurch Boys High School team to overall victory in the Tour’s final stage, a criterium in Wellington on Saturday 21 April. Japan based New Zealander Dan Underwood claimed the Tour’s individual rider honours, while Dian Bell claimed female honours.

Britz proudly sponsored Day 6 (19 April) of both the North Island and South Island legs of the tour. In the north, cyclists rode 130km in two sub-stages from National Park to the river city of Whanganui, while in the south cyclists rode 125km as they pedaled their way from Hanmer Springs to Kaikoura through rolling countryside and snow cradled valleys.

Britz Campervans Brand Manager, Sharron Clark, says the association with the Tour taps into the brand’s passion for cycling in New Zealand, not only celebrating New Zealand’s great rides, but inviting participation from competitive and recreational cyclists of all levels.

“We were thrilled to support this unique New Zealand event and feel the inaugural Tour of New Zealand is the beginning of a successful and progressive partnership, celebrating and promoting the amazing tourism opportunities involving cycling that are available on our doorstep.

“Overseas riders and media were amazed by the event, our wonderful scenery and riding routes. Most asked when the next event is scheduled so they can return and bring more cyclists and supporters with them!

“New Zealand offers some of the best cycling in the world and this is a space where the Britz brand connects beautifully. Britz campervans not only provide cyclists with a home away from home, including all the creature comforts, but they also offer Britz bikes to use while you’re away, or you can take your own bike and use Britz bike racks.”
