New SME Event Good for Business on All Levels

Business just got better for New Zealand’s 500,000 plus small to medium businesses, with the creation of MyBiz Expo, set to happen at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds from October 14 to 16.

Created by New Zealand’s largest and longest-running B2B exhibition organizer, XPO Exhibitions, MyBiz Expo is designed to provide businesses with a platform through which suppliers can be compared, services found and onsite deals done.

“It was clear that small businesses want an effective showcase where they can find ways to cut the cost of business,” says XPO Exhibition Director Brent Spillane.

“SME business owners don’t have the time or resources to research whether their existing providers are ‘best in market’ for price and service offering. And likewise, many suppliers want a place they could show off their new products and services. Win, win!” says Spillane.

MyBiz Expo is designed with today’s financial climate in mind, where return on investment is vital. Leading power companies, telcos, banks, freight, IT support, insurance, vehicle leasing, print industry companies and more are exhibiting – all looking to reach the thousands of SME owners and managers expected to attend.

“Visitors will be able to go from supplier to supplier at MyBiz Expo, analyse their various features and benefits, whilst exhibitors have the rare opportunity to do face-to-face business and put together mutually beneficial deals,” says Spillane.

XPO is also revolutionising how companies interface with each other at trade shows, providing devices where exhibitors can seek permission to electronically scan a visitor’s badge, sharing their contact details and enabling the recording of follow-up actions from the exhibitor’s engagement with each visitor. The exhibitor walks away with a practical database of contacts (referenced to the show registrations system) and follow-up activities with whom they’ve interacted during the event.

Spillane speaks of this technology also enabling another business platform after the event, with the creation of a MyBiz Club that will provide visiting business owners with ongoing exclusive business offers from exhibitors throughout the year.

While SME’s can use the MyBiz Expo as a ‘nuts and bolts’ price comparison, it also presents a valuable opportunity to learn about and discuss new products and offerings in the market; including high speed broadband solutions and TV advertising that may be new investments for business but can deliver significant results for SMEs.

New Zealand’s leading innovative television and digital media company TVNZ, has partnered with XPO Exhibitions for the MyBiz Expo, and is taking this occasion to reach out to event visitors in order to gain an in-depth understanding of their business challenges.

Tony Waite, General Manager of Media Sales believes that through gaining this understanding, TVNZ can demonstrate how TV advertising can help overcome those challenges by developing a solution that delivers true ROI.

“Television is a powerful advertising medium for SME that needn’t be cost prohibitive,” says Waite “through MyBiz Expo; we aim to showcase the power and benefits of advertising with TVNZ.”

Spillane believes that business owners and managers that visit MyBiz Expo will have the process of making new supplier and business contacts made easy. “The show’s tagline says it all,” says Spillane, “make your bills smaller and your business bigger – all at one Expo.”

“If you provide products or services to SME’s, you should consider exhibiting to your current and future customers and MyBiz Expo,” he said.
