Official Appointment For Orbit

9 July 2012 - Orbit Corporate Travel was today officially appointed to the Travel Management Services Panel under an All–of-Government (AOG) tender.

The comprehensive tender process covered travel management services, provision of online booking tools, travel policy management and reporting, and has been in process since February this year. Paul O’Sullivan, General Manager Government Business at Orbit is understandably pleased with the outcome. “We have 25 years experience in managing travel for New Zealand’s largest Public and Private sector clients. Over the years, we have refined many aspects of our service offering to cater specifically to our key Government clients. We look forward to continuing these rewarding relationships that we have fostered.

Orbit Group is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company. “We believe our service offering set us apart,” says O’Sullivan. “Our regional representation across six locations throughout New Zealand, our structure for capacity and testimonials from our current clients has all been integral to being successful in the AOG tender.”

O’Sullivan also credits its World Class IT partner, Amadeus, in Orbit’s success. “Amadeus is a recognised global leader in travel technology. We are working with a technology partner that provides functional, robust and easy to use platforms, and is geared to provide continual enhancement programmes that benefit our customers.”

The AoG tender for Travel Management Services is one of the projects in the Government Procurement Reform Programme for 2012. Aimed at achieving cost savings, quality of service and enhancing participation by government agencies in New Zealand , the tender process was robust before awarding contracts to five providers. The Government procurement programme is led by the Ministry or Business, Innovation and Employment.
