CallPlus offers unlimited Ultra-Fast Broadband to schools

CallPlus is the first provider to offer unlimited internet to New Zealand schools. Schools can now fully harness the learning benefits of the government’s Ultra-Fast Broadband and Rural Broadband initiatives without worrying about data caps and costs.

CallPlus currently serves 1 in 4 New Zealand schools, and is applying its expertise to provide customised fibre packages that cater to the specific needs of schools – namely, it offers significantly more services and data than other providers at a lower cost.

Kelvin Hussey General Manager of CallPlus says they currently provide innovative communications solutions to around a quarter of Kiwi schools, so they understand the funding challenges schools face. “We believe schools should be able to take full advantage of ultra-fast broadband without cost or data caps being an obstacle. Unlimited internet does just that.

“We have added a number of great bonus features to our schools’ Starter Pack to enhance the learning experience, as well as to support the administrative functions of schools. The response from schools has been fantastic.”

Chris Johnston, President of School Executive Officers’ Association says “CallPlus have got their offer just right. It shows that they understand schools and how they operate today, both from a learning and management perspective. Ultra-Fast broadband has the potential to transform teaching and learning in our schools and it’s heartening to see that this evolution doesn’t necessarily come with excessive data bills.”

Hussey continues, “Other providers offer capped internet plans, whereas on a CallPlus plan schools don’t have to worry about limiting their data use. And because we are confident that our ultra-fast fibre package is outstanding value we invite schools to put our offer to the test via our online plan calculator.

For just $130 a month a school can get unlimited ultra-fast internet over a fibre connection, online backup to disaster proof their data, a web domain and web hosting for their website, email to bulk SMS to easily keep in touch with parents, and two voice lines with low cost calling options.

To further enhance the learning and teaching experience, and facilitate learning outside of the classroom, CallPlus has partnered with renowned innovators HP, Fujitsu, and content filtering providers Watchdog to offer a safe, secure Wi-Fi hotspot solution.

As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to education, CallPlus works with Slingshot on the Better Schools programme – an initiative that enables schools not only to reduce their communications costs but to actually raise funds.

“When a school joins CallPlus they are added to our Better Schools programme. Parents and friends of the school who use Slingshot then select the school online to trigger CallPlus to donate a percentage of their monthly bill to their school.

“Whether the money goes towards new sports gear, IT equipment or some library books, it is all about helping schools and putting money back into educating our young people.” concludes Hussey.
