Next generation GPS navigation device

Auckland, NEW ZEALAND – 30 July 2012 – Navman Wireless has announced the New Zealand availability of the M-Nav 800, the next generation of its GPS navigation and messaging device which allows businesses to make smarter fleet management decisions on the go.

The M-Nav 800 has a unique ETA functionality that allows for better communication between drivers and office personnel. Dispatchers can send the nearest vehicle to a job location and are able to communicate accurate and updated arrival times to customers Drivers can accept or reject a job using preloaded messages back to dispatchers and by utilising the M-Nav 800’s state of the art maps, they are able to take the most efficient route to job locations.

“The market leading ETA capability built into the M-Nav 800 gives the drivers and dispatchers better visibility of ETA to a job. This is crucial for businesses who want raise their level of customer service,” said Ian Daniel, Vice President Asia Pacific at Navman Wireless. “They’ll have real-time ETA data at their fingertips that will allow them to manage expectations with the customer.”

On the road, drivers now have a new lane guidance feature and options to view alternative routes while a new smart detour feature helps drivers avoid road congestion. Drivers can also view speed limits and receive overspeed warnings on their M-Nav 800, keeping drivers and their fleet managers fully aware of their driving behavior.

With the M-Nav 800, businesses can reduce the paperwork needed for operational tasks by automating manual processes such as the capture of job information before and after a job by pushing out pre-loaded forms to the drivers. The M-Nav 800 features a new, streamlined user interface and the ability to display multiple routes on-screen at once, enhanced with the M-Nav 800’s larger 5 inch screen.

The M-Nav 800 works with Navman Wireless’s Qube 2.5 and Qube 3 tracking units and integrates fully with OnlineAVL2, for routing, messaging and navigation. The OnlineAVL2 fleet tracking system also allows dispatchers, fleet managers and executives to monitor and manage fleet activities from a desktop, smartphone or tablet.
