Cigna Life Insurance New Zealand Limited has appointed three new directors, including a new Chair, to its Board.
Steven Fyfe will take over the role of Chair, while Graeme Mitchell and Norah Barlow have been appointed as independent directors.
CEO Gail Costa welcomed the new appointments, which took effect on 31 July.
Steven Fyfe also chairs The Co-operative Bank Ltd, and is a director of Crown Asset Management Ltd. He is a Trustee of the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation.
Graeme Mitchell is deputy chair of the External Reporting Board which is responsible for the development of New Zealand’s accounting and auditing and assurance standards, as well as a director of Barnardos New Zealand. He is on the Board of the National Provident Fund, and Trustee of the Karori Sanctuary Trust. He also serves on the Victoria University of Wellington Council and chairs the audit committee of the Ministry of Justice.
Norah Barlow is Managing Director and CEO of the Summerset Group, and has been President of the Retirement Villages Association of New Zealand since 2006.
They will join existing directors Gail Costa, Bruce Phillips and Hong Kong-based Jason Sadler, as the board expands from four to six members.
“I am delighted to have secured the services of the new directors, who bring a wealth of skills and experience to the board,” Mrs. Costa said.
“Cigna is committed to developing innovative products and new channels so that insurance is accessible to all New Zealanders. We believe the skills, experience and fresh perspective our new board members bring to the table will enable us to continue making it easier for New Zealanders to get the protection they need.”
