Heading up the recent corporate news for DB is the new joint venture we have entered into with Nelson-based cider company Redwood Cellars.

In June, the decision was made to strengthen ties with Redwood Cellars in what has been dubbed a ‘natural progression’ for both DB Breweries and Redwood Cellars.

DB’s relationship with Redwoods Cellars has been strong for a number of years and the new agreement for both companies will strengthens things between us. As part of the new structure DB Breweries will effectively ‘free up’ our cider production, marketing and sales and hand over the cider business the newly established Redwood Cider Company on October 1st.

New Greymouth Brewery:
Monteiths recently reopened its doors after an 18-month-long transformation of the iconic Monteith’s Brewery in Greymouth.
The official opening of the new $4million building and facilities took place on the 25th July, 2012 and was attended by Grey District Mayor, Tony Kokshoorn, Monteith’s head brewer Tony Mercer, MPs, tourism representatives, locals, former staff and media.
The new brewery gives Tony Mercer greater brewing flexibility to create new and interesting beers in different pack formats - including the newly unveiled Monteith’s Brewers Series.

Tiger Beer

Tiger Beer has just marked the brands 10year anniversary in New Zealand, head of the brands bigger celebration – its 80th Birthday in October.
In July the New Zealand Tiger beer drinkers were the first in the world to receive the innovative ‘edgy’ bottle and new packaging, as part of the brands international packaging rollout.
The new Tiger bottles have a contemporary look and feel, with slimmer sleeker straight angles, a higher neckline and new contours. The distinctive blue Tiger label has been given a revamp and the ‘Tiger’ embossing on the bottles neck has been refined.

Later in the year to kick-off the Tiger Beer 80th birthday celebrations and as part of the festivities we will be bringing TigerTranslate back to New Zealand. Keep an eye out for more information on the event in the coming months.

Apparently there’s a time and place to devour the humble pie... but no one told both the Tui team and a handful of brazen kiwis looking to win a trip to Portland, Oregon (USA) - the heart of the vegan capital of the world. The all comforting, go-to snack for most; the pie is now centre of attention and it must also be the centre of attention of photos as Tui fans are encouraged to show-off their inappropriate pie moment – essentially a photos of themselves tucking into a pie in ‘a shockingly inappropriate’ place. Winners will get the chance to eat a pie in ‘Vaganville’ Oregon.
