Rockburn Pinot Noir 2010 scoops Double Trophies at Bragato Wine Awards in New Zealand

Champion Pinot Noir Trophy & Reserve Champion Wine Trophy

Rockburn Wines’ Pinot Noir 2010 has continued its record of highest success, this time in the prestigious Bragato Wine competition in New Zealand.

Rockburn Pinot Noir 2010 took out the Mike Wolter Trophy for Champion Pinot Noir and also the Richard Smart Trophy for the Reserve Champion Wine. Over 530 wines were entered into the competition that celebrates growers first and foremost.

Other recent international awards include – ‘Best in Class’ at the lauded International Wine & Spirits Competition in London (IWSC) and 5 stars in UK magazine Decanter.

General Manager Paul Donaghy commented: “Our Pinot Noir continues to achieve massive success on the domestic and international stage, testament to our very talented Winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis and vineyard teams; it reaffirms Rockburn is at the forefront of Central Otago producers.”

Winemaker; Malcolm Rees-Francis commented: “It is a great honour and pleasure to bring the Mike Wolter Memorial Trophy back home. While at Rockburn it will look out across to the Central Otago Wine Company that Mike co-founded, and each stands as tribute to vision and dedication.”

Rockburn’s Pinot Noir is a pure expression of Central Otago derived from the estate vineyard sites at Gibbston and Parkburn and the 2010 vintage contributes to a long and proud tradition of success.

Over the last decade, Rockburn Wines have consistently won gold medals and trophies for their Pinot Noirs.
