Jet Park Joins Forces with Auckland SPCA

MEDIA RELEASE SEPTEMBER 2012

Jet Park Joins Forces with Auckland SPCA

Jet Park Hotel near Auckland Airport is pleased to announce it is now a major sponsor of Auckland SPCA.

Jet Park Directors Liz Herrmann and John Lautere have been avid supporters of the SPCA in both South Africa and here in New Zealand.

“SPCA is a cause close to our hearts, and has long been the chosen charity of Jet Park Hotel and Conference Centre,” says Liz. “We both believe in supporting the local community and think the work of the SPCA is so important, so we are really pleased to make the partnership official.”

Jet Park, which is situated across the road from Auckland SPCA, has had an unofficial involvement with Auckland SPCA that has grown over the years, from supporting them with donations of old newspapers for their kennels, to participating in “Round the Bays” to raise funds, and donating and selling nearly 1400 cupcakes for the SPCA’s recent Cupcake Day fundraiser. Shala, a labrador/collie cross, and Maffie, a beagle, are both former Auckland SPCA residents rescued by Liz and John.

Now that it is an official sponsor, Jet Park’s financial support is critical in helping the SPCA, which cared for approximately 22,000 animals last year, yet receives no automatic funding from the government and relies on community and corporate supporters to fund all its services and activity.

“This sponsorship will make a real and tangible difference to animals in the Auckland region, so we are thrilled that Jet Park has come on board,” says Auckland SPCA’s Marketing and Fundraising Manager Rona Booth.
