All Kiwi and all natural new range

Media Release April 2013

Iconic NZ juice brand launches all Kiwi and all natural new range

New Zealand’s oldest chilled juice brand, Arano, has undergone a make-over, with a fresh new look and a new range of100% Kiwi juices.

The premium Kiwi juice range includes six juices made from only the best of New Zealand-grown fruit and natural ingredients.

Arano’s new range includes; its original 100% NZ Orange Juice (375ml & 1.75l), NZ Grapefruit Juice (375ml & 1.75l), NZ Pear Juice (375ml), NZ Peach Juice(375ml), NZ Apricot Juice (375ml), NZ Plum juice(375ml).

Arano Sales and Marketing Manager, Daryl Greentree, said; ”With Arano’s new range of juices we’ve set out to create the most authentic flavours with as little human intervention as possible. We want to let New Zealand's great fruit do the talking and the result is even better than we expected – it’s like you’re squeezing the fruit directly into your mouth! We’ve taken advantage of the bountiful fruit bowl on offer in New Zealand and are providing Kiwi’s with some of their favourite fruits like plum, peach, pear and apricot in a juice form.”

Mr Greentree added; “The Arano brand is New Zealand’s oldest chilled juice brand. It’s stood the test of time because it listens to its customers and what we are hearing, loud and clear, is that consumers want 100% New Zealand juices made from local fruit and as pure as possible. So we have revamped our range and done away with the smoothies, and we now have a very simple recipe – the natural juice made from all New Zealand fruit. The range is as pure as we can possibly make it. We only use a splash of natural preservatives and natural flavours where we have too, in-fact it is less than 0.1%, and this is to ensure we offer taste consistency and the juice remains stable.”

Arano doesn’t use ultra heat treatment when crafting the juice and this, explains Mr Greentree, is what makes the Arano range taste so superior.

“Taste has always been paramount to our brand. The ultra heat treatment would hugely compromise both the taste and quality of the juice as a lot of the goodness of the fruit is lost in the process,” said Mr Greentree.

The new range is launching with a fresh new look showcasing quintessential Kiwi imagery in a hand drawn style and will be available in hotels, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets from 1 April 2013.

Arano recently announced its sponsorship of MasterChef, one of TVNZ’s highest rating programs, as part of a strategy to increase the brands profile and market share in the chilled juice category.

Notes to the editor:

Arano launched in 1982 and originated out of good old Kiwi ingenuity when Kumeu orchard grower John Tollemache was looking at ways to optimise his orchard produce. It was the first ‘fresh to market’ juice in New Zealand and prided itself on the purity of its product. It was even presented to the Queen on her visit to New Zealand!

In 2007 Frucor beverages Ltd acquired Arano and it is now made at the Simply Squeezed factory in Bayview, Napier.
