“If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.” Henry Ford

Positive progress is central to the Accountants and Tax Agents Institute of New Zealand (ATAINZ) and in the coming months the organisation will be literally ‘ going places’ around New Zealand, visiting different centres to share ideas, inspire members and encourage other professionals to become part of its future.

Anyone interested in learning more about ATAINZ in general and professional development in particular, is welcome to attend what promises to be an inspiring and sociable session, all free of charge, says ATAINZ president Pene Johnstone.

“We’re travelling to ten different places in the next ten months and anyone who attends one of our sessions will get an update on ATAINZ activities and hear from taxation guru Mike Hadwin who is our guest speaker for the nationwide seminar series,” says Mrs Johnstone.

“Mike’s a well-known, entertaining speaker and he’ll be sharing some insights he’s gained from over three decades of experience in the industry. He’ll focus on the importance of being a member of an organisation like ATAINZ, the value of continuing education and why ethics and professional standards are central to the industry.”

ATAINZ represents more than 300 accountants and tax agents throughout the country and is one of only three organisations in New Zealand currently granted ‘approved advisor group’ status by the Inland Revenue Department. The organisation exists to promote the welfare and professional development of members, inspire best practice in the accounting profession and provide support to members when it is required.

Mrs Johnstone says ATAINZ takes a dynamic approach to the continued promotion of taxation education and delivery of an unrivalled, high quality and personal service to clients, members and collaborative partners. “We’re unique in the New Zealand tax and accounting market because of our ‘grassroots’ contact with members, and most importantly we are a kiwi organisation through and through, based in New Zealand.”

“Come along and enjoy a winter’s afternoon of learning, mingling with other like-minded professionals in a relaxed yet motivating environment.”
