Nelson’s iconic fashion store gets a new look

Jays on Bridge has been a Nelson fashion institution for the past fifty years. Karen Jordan, who has owned the store for over twelve years takes inspiration from Coco Chanel who once said, “in order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different”.

Kate Donaldson has joined Karen in the business and together they have formed “JAYS & KO”.

Karen says, “Having seen what is offered in Auckland and Wellington, we wanted our customers to have access to the same exciting retail experience, and offer Nelson a unique shopping experience with a variety of different options under one roof”.

Jay’s makeover is much more than a simple rebrand. Kate brings with her a background in makeup artistry and is introducing her newly developed cosmetic range, “KO”, to be sold in store from September. Kate says, “I have known Karen a long time, and we are very excited to be working together. I believe our combined strengths in fashion and make up will enhance our customer’s overall retail experience”.

As well as a new make up and brow bar, JAYS & KO will continue to stock all their clients’ favourite national and international fashion labels, such as Trelise Cooper, Jane Daniels, Verge, Paula Ryan, Caroline Sills, Ricochet and many more.

JAYS & KO will also be catering to Nelson’s men by carrying Diesel menswear. In addition a variety of luxury accessories and gift items, will be sold in order to fulfil Karen and Kate’s ambition to offer locals the only “boutique department store” in Nelson.

JAYS & KO opens this weekend, and will be open on both Saturday and Sunday, the 2nd and 3rd of August.
