Further to the accident involving two of our pilots this morning we can advise the following:
• The pilot who was sent to Queenstown Hospital has since been transferred to Dunedin by helicopter
• We are waiting on medical confirmation as to the status of both pilots but it is our understanding they were both in a conscious state.
• In respect of the circumstances we will be suspending our commercial operations this weekend.
• The accident occurred during a training flight – with no passengers on-board.
It’s been a difficult day for the team and their families here at Milford Sound Flights. Our thoughts are with our pilots at this time.
